Congressional Obsession With Roger Clemens

The War in Iraq
The Decline of the U.S. Dollar
Millions of Americans without Health Insurance
The Sorry State of U.S. Education
Illicit Torture Camps
Unemployment and Loan Foreclosures
Global Warming
These are but a few of the far more important things that Congress can be butting it’s taxpayer-funded nose into than whether or not Roger Clemens developed an abscess on his buttocks ten years ago.

I think that specifically with steroids it has to do with illegal activity and a wider dangerous problem, or some sort of rationale like that.
In general, baseball has an anti-trust exemption, which Congress can revoke at any time. So they kind of have them by the balls in that sense.
